Course Descriptions for Bible & Theology Classes
OT1102 Old Testament Survey [2 Credits]
This course surveys the Old Testament Books with emphasis on background information, and builds a proper “big picture” of the Old Testament.
OT2112 Old Testament Themes I [2 Credits]
This course examines the creation and flood accounts, and the patriarchs through the Exodus. Time will be given to an extensive study on the New Testament understanding of the law and Tabernacle.
OT1302 Old Testament Themes II [2 Credits]
This is a continuation of Old Testament Themes I. It follows the Old Testament narrative through the Israelite exile to Babylon. Prerequisite: OT2202
NT2102 New Testament Survey [2 Credits]
This course surveys the New Testament Books with emphasis on background information, and builds a proper “big picture” of the New Testament. Time will also be spent on the Inter-Testament Period for proper historical understanding.
NT2202 Gospel of John [2 Credits]
This course is a detailed look at the life of Jesus Christ through the book of John. Time will be given to the historical perspective as well as the spiritual perspective.
NT1302 Acts [2 Credits]
This course’s main focus is the beginnings of the early church and the outpouring and work of the Holy Spirit. A detailed look will also be given to the life of the Apostle Paul.
NT1403 Romans and Galatians [3 Credits]
This course is designed to allow a complete overview of Paul’s epistles with strong emphasis on Paul’s soteriology as well as other subjects Paul writes. A look at how these two books correspond will also be looked at.
NT1413 The Corinthian Letters [3 Credits]
A look at background and doctrinal study will be the focus of this course. Much emphasis will be given to the Gifts of the Spirit and how they operate in today's church, as well as other doctrinal issues that are expressed in these books.
NT2422 Pastoral Epistles [2 Credits]
This course will focus on the truths of leadership from a pastoral perspective in the books of I and II Timothy and Titus. Attention will also be given to the roles of Elders and Deacons.
NT2432 Prison Epistles [2 Credits]
This course will look at the major themes of the Prison Epistles, including: Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, and Philemon.
TH1102 Introduction to the Bible [2 Credits]
This course introduces the student to a history of how the Bible was put together and the different versions that are used today. An emphasis will also be placed on proper study of the Bible and Hermeneutical guidelines to follow.
TH2202 Theology I [2 Credits]
This is a course that stresses the importance of a Biblical Theology and the importance of a solid foundation that does not waver in doctrine. Studies will include: General Theology, Angelology, Anthropology, and Soteriology.
TH1212 Theology II [2 Credits]
This is a continuation of Theology I. Studies will include: Christology, Pneumatology, Ecclesiology, and Eschatology. Prerequisite: TH2202
TH3223 Theology of Prayer [3 Credits]
This distance learning course studies the Biblical use of prayer in the Old and New Testaments as well as how Prayer is used in modern days.
