Course Descriptions for the Division of Ministry
MN1102 Introduction to Ministry [2 Credits]
This course focuses on the challenges of ministry with emphasis on financial and time management, ethical standards, and the importance of a personal relationship with God.
MN1202 Pastoral Ministry [2 Credits]
A detailed look at the ins and outs of pastoral ministry is the focus. The Biblical role of a pastor will be studied as well as current trends.
MN2212 Evangelism Ministry [2 Credits]
This course will focus on the call of every believer to evangelize. Techniques and approaches to evangelism will be learned and practiced.
MN2222 Teaching Ministry [2 Credits]
This course will help the student understand teaching technique. An understanding of the Biblical role of a teacher will also be studied.
MN2302 Homiletics [2 Credits]
This is an interactive class designed to help fine-tune the student’s skills in preparing Bible messages. Time will be spent in study of sermon preparation as well as the presentation .
MN1402 Ministry through Spiritual Gifts [2 Credits]
This is an interactive class that pertains to the Gifts of the Spirit. A detailed look will be given to each gift for Biblical understanding and practice.
MN2412 Ministry through Biblical Counseling [2 Credits]
This is a practical look at the role counseling plays in the church today. Emphasis will be given to counseling concerns & techniques that can be used in helping to resolve problems.
MN1422 Ministry through Dramatic Arts [2 Credits]
This is an active class that teaches the student how to use drama, interpretive dance, and other dramatic arts as a way of ministering the Gospel.
MN3432 Ministry to Youth [2 Credits]
This distance learning course studies many facets of Youth Ministry. Time will also be given to study current trends and approaches.
MN3442 Ministry to Children [2 Credits]
This distance learning course studies the ins and outs of children's ministry. Time will be given to the study of current trends and approaches.
MN3453 Christian Marriage [3 Credits]
This distance learning course studies the framework of a Biblical marriage and ideas to make a marriage successful and long lasting.
MN3502 Introduction to Biblical Worship [2 Credits]
This distance learning course introduces the student to the Biblical basis of worship using Psalms as a guide. How to approach and view God in reference to worship will also be studied in light of Psalms.
MN2512 Worship Exploration [2 Credits]
This course will explore the importance of worship from a personal and corporate level. Emphasis will be given to the importance of worship in the church today.
SP3703 Intercession Special Project [3 Credits]
This course is a practical learning experience for the ministry of intercession. The student must be approved by the Dean of Internship via the special project request form. This course must have an approved mentor and at least 2 hours a week of ministry internship. This course will also include ministry evaluations, a ministry journal, and required reading with a book report.
SP3713 Worship Special Project [3 Credits]
This course is a practical learning experience for the ministry of worship including: choir, instruments, or sound. The student must be approved by the Dean of Internship via the special project request form. This course must have an approved mentor and at least 2 hours a week of ministry internship. This course will also include ministry evaluations, a ministry journal, and required reading with a book report.

This course is a practical learning experience for the ministry of teaching. The student must be approved by the Dean of Internship via the special project request form. This course must have an approved mentor and at least 2 hours a week of ministry internship. SP3743 Church Ministry Special Project [3 Credits]
This course is a practical learning experience for the church ministries including: men's & women's ministry, senior ministry, singles ministry and most other church ministries. The student must be approved by the Dean of Internship via the special project request form. This course must have an approved mentor and at least 2 hours a week of ministry internship. This course will also include ministry evaluations, a ministry journal, and required reading with a book report.
SP3753 Youth Ministry Special Project [3 Credits]
This course is a practical learning experience for the ministry of youth. The student must be approved by the Dean of Internship via the special project request form. This course must have an approved mentor and at least 2 hours a week of ministry internship.
